Being an mma match anything can happen. But i fully expect shogun to beat the **** out of vera. Vera has seemed like hes not really into it anymore. He just doesnt seem hungry. Maybe hell prove me wrong.

Also good work juggz i bet its verbatim what uncle dana will say after the event.

Fox must be pumped to get a main event where the 2 fighters are a combined 3-6 since Oct of 2009 and one is universally hated by hardcore fans.

Eh, not really. Some fights are considerably more predictable than others.

Even if Vera is hungry who has he beat anywhere near the level of Rua? No one. Anything can happen but to me its just a horrible fight on paper.

Mike Patt could beat Shogun today

I dont care what anyone says, if this stays strictly standing which I expect it to, Vera wins at this point of their careers. Shogun has been done to me, his fight with Griffin proved nothing to me because i dont think Griffin was there mentally or physically and Hendo was gone physically after like the 2nd round of the so called "fight of the year"

I wouldnt pick Vera in fights where his opponent would take him down but in a stand up fight, I can easily say Vera should not be taken lightly

Your not wrong. There was an interview with Brandon Vera that talked about how after a home invasion he was mentally not in the game for a while.

"I remember after that fight, going in to train would suck," Vera said. "I'd be looking at the clock, waiting to leave. Sometimes I didn't want to go two or three-a-days. I'd be arguing with my coaches or slacking off. I honestly think that it had to do with that home invasion."

It wasn't just that he was emotionally traumatized, Vera said, though of course he was. But it was more that, once he realized how easily and suddenly his life could have ended, spending hours in a gym every day didn't seem like such a good use of his time.

"After that, I don't think MMA was number one in my life anymore," said Vera. "After that home invasion, I was like, hey, I could have been dead today, and there's still so much I want to do. There's so much I want to experience, so much I want to do with my wife. MMA just wasn't the number one priority in my life anymore. Without me knowing, my life rearranged itself."
The article goes on to claim that sometime after getting thrashed by Thiago Silva he went on a long road trip and found that mental desire again. The perpetrators being arrested a few years later also helped.

What do they put in your water? Shogun is gonna blitz Vera and put him out.

Except after that enlightenment he had a lackluster performance against a Eliot Marshall, and Marshall ain't no Shogun.
