got to watch it in 3D. i thought it was the one of the best sci-fi movies i've ever seen. btw, that scene where the scientist sees the snake-looking alien and starts approaching thinking it's cute was hilarious. what is up with u whities? i recall going to a D.L hughley show, where he said that when a black person sees a tiger, he runs the other way. but when white people see a tiger, they start going closer and say "hey, kittie-kittie-kittie-kittie".

I really wanted to like this and was prepared to look past minor flaws but this movie was terribly average. So many of the scenes were predictable, and the script was garbage with characters jumping to conclusions about things that made no sense just to advance the plot because the writers either weren't smart enough to see the gaps, creative enough to find a better way, or just didn't give a damn because it was easier. It reminded me of going back and reading a paper I wrote in high school, thinking I'm sure this read perfectly in my head but for anyone else reading it they would have to stop every 5 seconds and say how the **** did he get from there to there.

There were obvious characters there just as alien fodder and not a single ****ing person on that ship would have passed a psych evaluation to work at the post office let alone be sent into space. It was loaded end to end with childish behavior and bickering and interpersonal conflict which had no positive bearing and did nothing to advance the plot in any way. I would rather watch John Carter or Battleship with its glaring holes 3 times before this Scream sequel worthy screenplay again. At least they were presented as what they were and not masquerading as some deeper meaning nonsense or well thought out plot that wasn't worth its weight in Ridley Scott's sh*t.

And calling it a sci-fi film is insulting. It was a horror film in drag with a bulge the size of Everest.

Honestly - I didn't know that this flick was a prequel to the Alien franchise. I didn't know anything about this movie except for 2 things; (1) the preview looked awesome, (2) Ridley Scott was the brain trust behind it all. That was good enough to get me stoked. Watched it last night and I have to say the first 30 minutes or so had me very interested then things started getting strangely familiar. I began finding myself thinking, "Hey, wait a minute this is starting to look like another Alien flick..." Of course by the end of the movie it all made sense. Unfortunately, up until the end of the movie I was getting more and more frustrated at how dumbed down and uncreative it was getting. I mean cripes, Ridley did everything except use old clips from his previous movies! Remember Bruce Lee in Game of Death? It's Bruce Lee in some parts and Bruce Li (I believe) in other parts in order to complete the movie. Pretty sure Ridley could've done the same thing and it wouldn't have changed much for Prometheus.

IMO, it was a great start that went steadily downhill to a poor finish. I don't give a fuhk about how the Alien came into existence or that we came into existence because some alien drank some bad ****. I wanted to find out what the engineer had to say about it all. Instead I got a retread movie that even Boo Ridley could've hacked together from 4 previously made Alien movies.

I suggest that this movie wasn't necessary and did little to enhance anything except maybe Scott's bank account.

I didn't scrutinize the details of this movie because I didn't dislike it as much as Avatar to really drag it over the coals. But that was a great review IMO.

His reviews of the Matrix sequels are excellent as well.

For anyone who wants to know what the movie would have been like before Damon Lindelof got involved here it is,

I really don't have the energy to read, but hope to find a pretty detailed synopsis somewhere.

The scene where the donut shaped spaceship is slowly rolling after the broads was incredibly silly.
