A couple of weeks ago, I had absolutely no interest in this card. I considered this an embarassment.

Boy, did I turn out to be wrong. The main event wasn't as exciting as I had hoped, but it was still a fun fight. The three bouts leading up to that were great all with sick finishes.

Very fun way to spend a Friday night off from work. You don't always need a card with all big name fighters and championships, I'm glad to have these smaller-profile events.

Decent card. The flyweight division will be a fun division as time goes on I think. However, my only real problem with the event was Brenneman (spelling?). Yes, he lost to Silva and I am glad the ref broke up the match during non action but as time goes on I am becoming less and less of a fan of wrestlers in MMA.

Unfortunately, wrestlers are going to quite dominant in most forms of MMA. It's the skill that you need to stop, ironically, wrestling.

Middle to thumbs up. Main card delivered for sure but prelims were probably the worst 2-3 hours of fights I've seen in a long time.

Some of the offbeat highlights/lowlights.

-Where was Arianny? Possibly whooping someones ass in the back of a limo.
-Terrible Judge scoring Rocha 30-27 had to be a mistake
-Post-fight show: MM awkward conversation with benny saying "baby" 10 times, and Karen Bryant awkwardly telling MM "props on your wife"
-Ref during facebook prelim hilariously calling out the time keeper for not paying attention and asking "where's your bell?!"
-Possibly the same ref not breaking up those prelim fighters (forgot which) after the first illegal knee.

I should clarify. I don't mind your Rashad Evans or Jon Jones type wrestlers who can wrestle and stand up. However, stuff like what Brenneman, Davis, Fitch, Askren, and even to an extent Sonnen do is quite frustrating and I don't want MMA to go down that road. Either that or change the rules of "octagon control". If you have someone on the ground and all you do is sit on them I would no longer consider that control strangely enough.
