So, UFC stands a much better chance of getting their attention in recruiting. It would probably be possible to work a deal with some of the midwest colleges to let UFC come on campus and recruit their seniors for jobs after college. UFC donates some training gear and gets access to the coaches and wrestlers.

Then the question becomes what does the UFC do with them? Do they just pass their names to Greg Jackson and other schools and hope they go after them? Or does UFC start a feeder league ala WWE where they hire them, they train them and control them? Maybe that just means the UFC pays them a stipend as long as they are with ATT, Jackson, etc... with contractual control of using them when they are ready to fight. Thats also a tough one as non-rasslers who didnt get that recruitment stipend would bitch.
I think there are more of these guys than you think. They aren't coming in droves, but it's becoming a pretty regular occurance for collegiate wrestlers to make the leap to MMA right out of college if they don't have Olympic aspirations first. They just don't jump to the UFC immediately. A lot of these guys are on the regional circuit, or are training in mma. guys like Bubba Jenkins are going to satrt becoming a more common occurance. You may not hear about 10 guys a year making major prospect waves, but it's happening more and more. I think it's becoming a well known option for these guys. To act as though they don't know about MMA is wrong imo.

Here is Bubba Jenkins 2nd MMA Fight:

This link will take you to his first: http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Bubba-Jenkins-85196

Click the 2nd video in the video section below his profile.

I expect we'll see him in the UFC before long. Their working relationship with Tachi will make it an easy transition for him

I have to side with Ash in this argument, i dont see anyone above Cain worthy of the title shot and i dont even like Cain. The truth is, Overeem screwed this all up because we had no problem when the match was Mir vs Cain for the next title shot. It only became a problem once it became Cain vs Bigfoot.

Other than Overeem, there is no one you can put before him. Werdum-Russow winner is the only one you could really put before Cain due to a win streak. After them, it's pretty much open to Travis Browne or Miocic and I doubt either one of them is ready for it. Cain just makes the most sense from all angles right now

I'm not sure about TRT but there's a story on the front page about an interview with Bubba discussing his opinion that steroids could play a role in the recent slew of injuries lately. It's a pretty dumbass illogical conclusion (he even tallies some of it up to Karma) but anyway that may be what was being referred to I just read the brief summary.

If I'm dropping a few hundred on tickets, I'm still concerned about your curse...

As for plans, it's not like it's invite only. I've hung out with a few different board members for past Toronto events (129/140). If you end up grabbing tickets, hit me with a PM and let me know.

I always go, but I'm weary of meeting board members. Nothing against anyone here, but I'm always on my worst possible behavior fight-night. I drink too much, and if the fights don't go my way (UFC 140....) then I'm always in a ****ing terrible mood. I wish we could meet up during a time I'm less insane, like a concert, or something.
