its the drug treatment thats casuing these fighters to get injured. you can't get p.e.d's unless you're injured!

Nah, you're wrong. That's the real reason. The real is, before, they couldn't afford to take time off for injuries. Now the UFC pays for a good chunk. Since the UFC is footing the bill, there's no concern of direct loss of income. (There is indirect loss, though).

He did have neck problems last year...in any event like everyone else I'm getting tired of this new trend of high profile injuries.

Still no details yet on Aldo's injury. Hopefully this will not lead to another situation with a backed up division even though UFC featherweight class is pretty talent shallow. Would like to see Koch stay on the card but I'm sure the way things have been he is going to sit and wait for that title shot. Can't say I blame him because his status going into this as the number 1 contender was already a bit of a gift, but sucks for fans as usual.

The thing is that fighters arent injuried anymore than they were in years past. The problem or main cause (depending on where you stand)is the UFC medical insurance policy
In previous years if a guy was injured in camp the UFC didnt cover the surgery/hospital stay so a guy would drag himself into the cage and after the fight claim he hurt himself in the fight and the UFC would pick up the tab
Now they cover anything, wether it be a snowboard injury, basketball injury or whatever. Its better to back out of a fight, rather than take a loss due to not being 100%.
Regarding this situation, feel bad for Faber. He would have been on a show that should easily get 1 million buys to one that will probably get 300 to 400 thousand.Thats a big chunk of cash he is not gonna see now.
