Default ARMA II Zombie apocalypse mod

Anyone else here playing? For those who don't know it ARMA II is a super realistic war simulation. I don't really like that game but its a mod for the game called DayZ that has made me buy it. That mod is hilarious. You play on servers with about 50 other people on a huuuge Russian island. The island has been hit by a zombie apocalypse so the goal is to survive and find what loot you can. You can also kill other players and steal their loot so often times the other players are more dangerous than the zombies.

    Here's video of the game:

If anyone feel like gaming add me on Steam, name is horur

Yeah they do update it very frequently, couple of times a week. Since it's still in alpha there are still some bugs and it's sometimes hard to join any game servers. But once you do get to play it's great.

Hmm, says controller enabled on Steam, too. Which ARMA II add-ons do you need to run this?

You need the original ARMA II and the expansion Operation Arrowhead. Combined they're called ARMA II: Combined Operations. From there you need the DayZ updater from worrom.com, run it and it'll install the mod. Add "-mod=Arma2;EXPANSION;CA -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion" without the quotation marks to Launch Options for ARMA II and you're good to go.
Combined Operations costs 25 euros which should be around $1500

Okay, cool. I'll pick it up soon and we can get a game going. Hopefully latency won't be an issue.

I've played mostly on the US servers, couple of New York and Chicago ones and it hasn't been bad. Most of the European servers are maxed out so it's easier to join the American ones. Also I tend to play at night and since the game follows your region's time zone it will mostly be dark if I play the European servers. And I haven't played a game yet where its as dark at night as it is in ARMA. It literally is pitch black.

I have ARMA II but haven't really went on the deep end because the controls are pretty overwhelming. I still don't understand how to interact with objects. Sometimes, it doesn't do what I want.

Yeah, there are quite a bit of options in the game. But I just figure I will learn as I play.
