Based on what everyone was saying then why did Zuffa decide not to keep Fedor? The guy was basically undefeated then fell into a small rough patch. All fighters do. Next thing I know all you hear is Dana did this and Fedor did that but no one had the whole story. Fedor has fewer losses than the UFC's top brass such as Penn, Couture, Hughes, etc.

Apparently you don't follow news as it relates to MMA or UFC.

Fedor's management always had too high of an asking price for his services in UFC, they wanted to co-promote with M1, which with Fedor retiring is basically dead as well.

UFC did everything and anything any sane and reasonable promotion could have done to sign him when he was a free agent. Before signing with SF he probably would have been the highest paid MMA fighter EVER if he signed with UFC.

How'd that work out for you M1?

I do as I get more into the sport but by the time I learned about Fedor he had already lost twice in Strikeforce. So I was indifferent about news regarding him.

Fedor is a puppet to his management and Zuffa never had any rights to Fedor contractually. So they weren't able to keep him. They did try to sign him and made more concessions to him than they ever have to any fighter and they still wanted more silly stuff.

coming off his destruction of AA and sylvia in the US and the opening the UFC had after afflictions collapse, fedor wouldve BLOWN UP if dana got to follow thru with his plans of putting on lesnar vs fedor in cowboys stadium... imagine if he won... fedor vs carwin wouldve followed, then fedor vs cain... instead it went bret rogers then werdum in strikeforce... cain couldve been the one to break the streak...

looking back thats not such a huge decline in opponents as some make it seem...

either way amazing career, was extremely fortunate to witness this one man wrecking machine fight live in person twice...

To me Fedor will be a guy I'll always remember as wasted potential because he let his management piss away the latter part of his career.

Instead of shutting the door on his place in history, he left it open for deserved discussion.

To me, Fedor will be the baddest sumbish that ever walked the planet.

Because of his 3 losses in a row in Strikefore, and not getting the chance to fight in the UFC, I will not call him the GOAT (that man is Anderson Silva), but there is no doubt his name is in the conversation.

Although upsetting, Emelianenko had a very fruitful career. Well deserved retirement and respect.

Don't think that was his last professional fight.
