    Default Glory purchases It's Showtime

Not sure how I feel about this news. I hope it'll result in more mixed fight shows and that there's no bad blood between Glory and some of the guys they have under contract. I know Glory had a bad relationship with numerous fighters, but I also think they've made internal changes, so I'm not sure where that all stands. I love both It's Showtime and the Glory World Series shows, so I'm hoping this results in more, better shows.

How does that work with a fight team owning the promotion? Is it similar to what m1 does?

Yes and no. Golden Glory isn't really a fight team, contrary to popular belief, but more of a management team. They have the main Golden Glory gym in the Netherlands which Cor Hemmers used to lead, but they also have other gyms (one in Thailand, unsure of the others) that are unrelated but owned by the same people. With that said, I'd say they're similar to M-1 somewhat. They run events and have their contracted fighters participate.

Having all the fighters from both shows together will make for some great fights.

    I'm all for this.

Right or wrong, Ive always assumed GG was alot like M1 in that they kind of have their own world territory and rule it like the Corleones. They just dont seem to have a presence in the Americas--or if they do, I have no idea. Are they as sketchy as M1? Overeem seemed happy for years until the UFC contract and then all hell broke loose and he acted like he had been duped for years. Whats your take on GG?

Definitely not as sketchy as M-1 or even close to. RE: the Overeem situation, I consider Overeem in the wrong there. That aside, when they put on shows they don't have their contract guys fight jobbers, their guys will happily fight each other, they take their titles seriously, they allow their contract fighters to take fights elsewhere, etc. They have a legit promotion and also put on good shows.
