Basically, Eddie's biggest argument was contested by Bellator, but the judged ruled in favour of Eddie's case, thus making this a much more competitive court battle.

    Things are getting dirty.
I've thought all along Eddie would end up winning this, and still do. Losing some early court battles was expected. Once this thing comes down to the nitty gritty, Eddie's attorney's should have no problem proving Bellator cannot realistically match the offer made by the UFC.

I don't know about whether Eddie Alvarez winning this case. I get the feeling Bellator will be able to just bully him with more money and lawyers. Either way, I don't see how this makes the case competitive for Alvarez since the court just basically said, "We don't know enough yet to throw out Eddie's claims."

When this all plays out, I would assume Bellator is going to have to prove they are going to run PPVs with Eddie Alvarez.

Or, they can just fill the court with bullsh*tto and Eddie runs out of money to pay his lawyers.

Sadly, that's true. Bellator is already getting some pretty bad press from fighters over this. hopefully if that happens, it gets worse

Once they show them the PPV numbers for the GSP card that he was supposed to be on, it will show that Bellator cannot match the numbers.

I wonder if after this case, can I sue Bellator for preventing Eddie from fighting on that card, since they prevented me from seeing an even better card.

I think he will just be happy to be making money then. However, Bellator dragging the "legal anchor" on him is costing him tons already.

I hope Bellator begins to lose some of these motions and recognizes that they might not just lose Eddie but a big chunk of change in the process. Eddie can now easily prove damages from this in the form of a payout from PPV buys and if Bellator is shown to have caused that damage they might be on the hook to pay Eddie that amount. Personally, I would love to see that happen.

They can't do that. Bellator isn't responsible for money that Eddie didn't make on a PPV he was never signed to be on.

I can't remember what it's called - but there's legal precedent for what the liability is for an employer who prevents an employee for working for someone else.

I really think Eddie just wants the legal process to give him the green light to fight in the UFC and allow him to make his money.

Although Bellator - if they want to be d*cks - can just appeal and appeal and stall and drag this thing out - win, lose, or draw. They can really fvck Eddie here if they want.
