I actually think Hunt takes this. Sure, his grappling technique is nowhere near Struve's level, but he's strong as hell and hits like a mack truck. I've got Hunt by brutal 1st round TKO.

So Vegas giving like 20:1 on this ending in the first round?
Struve gets KO'd or wins via sub within moments of the fight start.

I think Struve needs to spend some time in Stockton and train with the Diaz boys. He's basically a 245 Nate. I like Struve, he has good BJJ, and he is tough as nails, but his striking sucks. If he could get that Stockton slap going, he could be more of a force and set up his take downs a lot better.

Thanks, 80's
Mark Hunt wants to fight in Japan, and he already agreed to fight Struve back at UFC 146. Hunt will be right to fight by February the last time he gave an update (which was about why he wasn't taking the Cormier fight). I'd say that hunt is playing ****s and giggles over a bucket of KFC and this fight is as good as done.
I do not think the 'stockton slap' style of boxing would work as well for Struve as it does for Diaz. In my own entirely unqualified opinion, he is too damn tall and the technique is dependent on body shots.
I recently read a decent breakdown on Diaz's approach to boxing that was linked on Bloody Elbow (http://www.cagesideseats.com/2012/11...-prizefighting). Diaz uses what appears to be terrible technique, leading with his face, plodding along flatfooted, and throwing craptons of low power arm punches. But the technique is similar to old school boxing. Old school as in 'pre Duchess of Queensbury Rules' bare knuckles boxing from about the 1820s.
- The flat footed stance is to maintain balance against takedowns (which were allowed under 'Broughton's rules')
- Trying to take a punch on your forehead could cause an opponent to break his hand on your skull when not using gloves)
- Throwing alot of body shots keeps you from breaking your own hands
Most of that would probably be just fine for Struve. However, I think that Struve's height can make throwing body punches awkward. It would also make it harder to fully exploit his height and reach.
Then again, there are probably a few guys on this board who are better informed on this. Am I correct in assuming a massive height advantage makes throwing body punches more difficult?
