The one movie that makes me cry every time is the Champ. I dunno why but I'm a sucker for father/son stuff. When he tells Ricky Schroeder that he's a pain in the ass and the kid is all "I'll be good, I won't say nothing when you drink and gamble I just wanna be with you" I lose it. The final scene is a tear jerker as well, but that scene where he smacks the kid is the one that always gets me.

The thing I hate is when my daughter or son falls or something and my girlfriends immediate reaction is "OH MY GOD are you okay? You poor baby" and it scares the **** out of them and makes them cry. Most of the time if you don't react you'll realize it usually doesn't hurt as they just go on about their business. But when you lose your **** it makes them think they should be crying even if they're not hurt. And I always ask her what's your freak out gonna do? Reverse time and make them not fall? You can't change what happened and you can see if they are okay without freaking the **** out. He hit his nose when he slipped out of his chair at a restaurant last week. You could tell it hurt and he was trying not to cry so she did they whole "Ohhhhh you poor thing..." then the ****ing waterworks started. My response is always "that hurt huh?" and he'll nod then he'll be fine. But all this freaking out every time something happens is gonna turn him into a giant puss.

I think the closest I've come recently was watching my 6 year old daughter start crying after I had to tell her that her reading tutor had died. She was the grandma of one of her friends, and she got pretty sick and was in the hospital...my daughter had made her get well cards and a video get well card, and was looking forward to going back to her reading lessons. She had a really good day and it was looking like she was coming home, and then POOF....heart attack. My girl was crushed. Movies don't get much from me, but seeing my daughter's feelings get crushed makes me react.

Should I have scolded her for cowardice??

    just kiddin...

Dirty Dancing????? What the hell is there to cry about in Dirty Dancing? I barely remember that piece of garbage movie. I think the ugly chick was dying or something and her last wish was to Ho grind some dirty dancing.

The SPCA commercials on animal cruelty tear me up. I cant watch them, have to change the channel. Cant stand to see an animal suffer.
