We actually had this happen in Harris County (Houston) a year or so back. News station got wind of law enforcement holding secret manuevers at a rural airport with drones and got out there and got film footage. The local gov back pedaled and made all kinds of excuses but the fact is they were caught doing it. Why does local government need spy drones for? Just seems damned creepy.

Ive never seen their stuff but it is scary when our gov, either Fed or local, wants to use war weapons on the folks back home. I just cant fathom why they think they need spy drones unless its some type of drug surveillance thing.

My department has just adopted a new records management system (RMS) that pipe-lines all our info/stats to the Federal government. As part of that new RMS we are now required to obtain GPS coordinates (latitude & longitude) for every address we visit. Does law enforcement need GPS coordinates to find your home? No, but a gubmint drone does.

FWIW.........Those drones are here to stay whether they tell you or not so get used to it. We have steadily given up more and more freedoms over the years in the name of "safety for the general population".
