Because it goes against your belief that flyweights aren't fun to watch and that no one takes them seriously?

I can't believe you guys seriously spent 20 posts arguing about completely different things. Show promoted with commercials airing during football games =/= show the night before the superbowl.

The point Sean seems to make perfect sense. As the UFC, your obvious target demo is males 18-49. That demo is highly likely to be watching football. A potential UFC viewer is far more likely to be watching NFL on Fox over any other show it may broadcast. For this reason, their advertising is well-targeted and clearly would have a positive impact on ratings. A UFC on Fox show is likely to benefit greatly from advertising on Fox. Conversely, the "Superbowl Show" has absolutely no connection to football, other than the it being the day before. There is no advertising overlap between the two; no comparable commercials on Fox.

One is a Fox show promoted on Fox, one is a PPV show not promoted on Fox.

Yes, thats correct. Casual fans being enthralled by hummingbirds flitting about and occasionally bumping into each other seems askew.

Considering most of the current most popular boxers are relatively small, I don't find it inconceivable that casuals fans could be entertained by a fight between flyweights.

    Well, it happened. Tough luck.
