Pretty rough when you're a former movie star who can now longer afford the lifestyle you used to enjoy, or the child support payments you have been making over the years...
Brendan Fraser Broke, Can't Afford $900,000 Child Support Payment To Ex-Wife
Brendan Fraser is allegedly struggling to make do.
The former "Mummy" star went to a Connecticut court to try and reduce his annual $900,000 child support payment to his ex-wife Afton Smith, insisting he can no longer afford it, the New York Post reports. The 44-year-old actor explained that he no longer earns enough to justify the amount. But, his ex isn't buying it.
According to the Post, Smith went to court earlier this month and accused Fraser of "fraud" for reportedly hiding $9 million in new film contracts when they settled their divorce in Feb. 2009. During proceedings, Fraser claimed that he was set to make $0 (zero dollars) from acting in the coming years, later admitting he said that because he had no definite movie deals at the time. But since then, Fraser has made a handful of films, some of which haven't been released yet, including "Gimme Shelter," "A Case of You" and "Split Decision."
Still, the "George of the Jungle" actor cited numerous medical issues for putting a "considerable" limit on his ability to earn money and star in as many flicks as he used to.
Fraser has three young sons -- Griffin, 10, Holden, 8, and Leland, 6 -- with his former wife of nine years, whom he met in 1993 at a barbecue thrown by Winona Ryder. He is set to take the stand and testify at Stamford Superior Court later this month.

I think Fraser should have to ay, but 300k a kid is absurd.
Our system is Troy broken.
Should be capped at some dollar amount. Maybe 50k for all three. That's adult support right there. Or he should just pay for all their school and whatnot.

No idea what the real solution is - but I realize there are different degrees of what one person can pay compared to another person.
There has to be a program in place that audits the sh1t out of it though. "child support" is not "alimony" and I'm positive that when someone has a 13 year old kid and is getting 600k from their ex NBA husband for the child - that most of it never makes it to the child. Too many cases of kids not getting through school or whatnot while their moms aren't working and wearing mink coats.
i heard my judge in my divorce say that the child should have the same living standard in both homes. that is straight doo doo. same? what if the mom is a crackwhore? does the dad have to blow homeless dudes for $15 4 times a week? no? well then it seems that there is a line, now we need to agree on where it is. the only way the child should have the same living standard in both homes is if the same parent has both homes, it's impossible. what the child should have is housing, clothing, etc... so if the other parent cannot provide those things, maybe they shouldn't have full or perhaps even partial custody. now both parents can make an agreement to whatever effect they sign onto, but if the court decides it, it should maybe be a card that can be looked over at any point. it should only pay for clothes, groceries, school, and that's about it (and groceries should only be if there's an imbalance in custody).
getting pregnant should not be an occupation

If he is paying 900K a year for his children wtf is this bitch's contribution to their expenses??
That is complete bull****, even if he made a billion dollars a week there is no justification for that ammount of money being paid annually.
