It was a fun movie. Is it in my top 20 favorite movies ever? No, not even close.

    But it wasn't bad.

Then again - I don't go see a movie and start treating it like I'm a fat jew being paid to review it. I just enjoy the movie (or don't enjoy the movie) and that's that. I could give a sh1t less what George Romero did with zombies in 1985 - it has nothing to do with this movie.

Not sure if you're calling me a fat Jew, but it has everything to do with this movie. When you take on something as specialized as zombie you're always going to draw comparisons to the creator (or at the very least the person responsible for popularizing the genre). It doesn't surprise me in the least however that you don't make that connection. For the record I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's not a bad film by any stretch, and any time a genre film makes money it serves to promote more of them.

Lmao. Not calling you anything, I was just tring to say I don't watch a movie like a movie critic does.

That said, if others do, no biggy. Each to their own.

For me it really depends on which mindset I have when I go in to watch a movie. If I'm just looking to relax, eat some popcorn and drink some coke the movie can be filled with clichés, poor acting and what not as long as the movie is entertaining. If I'm watching the movie by myself at home then I sometime can be too critical towards the movie compared to what I normally would be.

One example is Rambo IV. The movie got some pretty horrible reviews, by Danish movie critics. They said the story was weak, the acting bad and it was too cliché and that it lacked depth. I think they're morons for going into a movie like Rambo and expecting something deep. I went in there expecting some mindless action and good entertainment and that is what I got.

Expectations will seriously alter how good you think a movie is.
