While I realize Tallica's gut is jiggling with optimism (dude, I'm sorry - sh1t - I wish I never read the "I'm Fat" thread ), I don't share it with him.

I think that this fight is going to be a blowout "quick win" for Rousey and won't have much effect. It'll be touted a huge success - but then all of the other WMMA fights that the UFC has are going to blow. HARD. The boo birds will be out and the critics will be in full effect and Dana will pull the plug (especially if Rousey doesn't become the huge megastar he's banking on). If Rousey loses - at any time - it just speeds up the process.

Have you watched any WMMA? Women have proven to be a draw in Strikeforce, and the 15 people who have watched Invicta, myself included, had nothing but praise for the fights and level of action. Casual fans drive the UFC engine, not the overly critical die hard populous. Casual fans love watching the women fight. They almost always bring excitement.

Even if Carmouche were to beat Ronda, the press is still going to be big because shes a lesbian, various media that never covered mma will cover her. I dont think the UFC can really screw up here if Ronda wins or loses, if Ronda wins, the hype keeps rolling.

If Carmouche beats her, you have a lesbian preaching how far she has come blah blah, while Ronda goes and fights Miesha in a rematch to get back to the title. Honestly, dont expect the UFC to do bad with this fight, like it or not Ronda is getting more people to tune in compared to any champs not named Jon Jones, GSP or Anderson Silva.

Add to that the fact that only 3 or 4 of the chicks in MMA are extra hot - and it'll die down quickly with the mainstream fans.

Sure, a fair amount of it is sloppy, but so is the majority of regional MMA. It's going to take some time, but the quality level will rise if the UFC can afford women the ability to become full time fighters. Also, there are still plenty of sloppy male fights in the UFC, and they are usually the ones people love. Your opinion of SF/and Invicta are in the minority for sure. It's obviously not going to be something everyone likes, but I think most will. It's like the flyweights. Some just won't be into it.
