Lol, dude. I was at a Fedor open workout in NYC (the one where DHK hid from me the entire time) and while waiting outside, everyone kept asking "what is this event for" to which some small asian man would always say "Fedor!" *greeted by silence* "you know...the greatest fighter ever!" *oh so he's a boxer?* "No, mixed martial arts!" *cagefighting?* "no, he fought in Pride" *huh?*
Wash rinse repeat. JMMA fans live in a bubble.
PRIDE- The Greatest Myth Ever Sold!
This story has little to do with the conversation, but it's funny regardless:
There's a funny homeless guy where I used to live (Hamilton) that always curiously wore both a Fedor Clinch Gear hat and hoodie. Both were the red versions, but they were turning brown due to... you know, I guess him being homeless. I always thought that was odd because it's not really attire you'd normally see a homeless person wear (I mean, I'd have to assume he got those brand new somehow), and that itself wasn't the strange part to me, but he also wore MMA gloves for no apparent reason. They weren't a recent pair either, but one of those old Boxergenics sets that Pete Williams and Tank Abbott used to be sponsors for way back in the day. Oddly enough, original pairs in good shape can go for hundreds of dollars on eBay nowadays. If you're wondering what his pants were like, they were those gigantic, baggy pants you'd see people wearing to raves about 15+ years ago.

Sounds like the typical NHB/JMMA fan. He probably has hundreds of cousins out in the American Midwest.

Always found it funny when there's that chant going on when for example two Brazilians are fighting.

I've seen a ton of Clinchgear shirts here - but OC is kind of Hendo country.
