The law here in Minnesota for texting while driving was poorly written. There was a news story about it last year. With the way it is written you could actually get a ticket for using your GPS on your phone but you could play a game while driving. As long as the game doesn't access the internet.

    Ha, that's ****ed.

Here is is called Distracted Driving, and it literally can include ANYTHING that an officer deems distracting.
Eating, adjusting radio, using GPS, etc.

I'm not saying you will get pulled over for turning the dial, but if you are focusing too much on that dial, they'll nail you.

Are you sure? Because that fat ass bastard Mayor Ford got photographed reading the newspaper on the Gardiner while driving his gas guzzling SUV and admitted to it in the papers, saying he's a busy guy, and not a peep about it.

Not a peep? it was a huge deal! There was talk of ticketing him, but it never happened. Same thing when he was spotted talking on his cell. He's such an arrogant douche.

But yeah, I'm sure. My brother is a Toronto cop, and he explained it to me, although it is not not clearly defined in the highway safety act.

Because it is so arbitrary, very few people actually get tickets for things like eating. You have to be seriously engrossed in your activity for them to nail you. He said he wouldn't dare try it, because it would likely get thrown out of court if somebody contested the ticket. Then again, he said he has never ticketed anyone for cell phones either. He hates giving tickets, and rarely gives any, lol.

Even the cell law has had controversies, for being too rigid.

I meant from the cops, not the Toronto Star!
