Default Tank Abbott vs. Bill Goldberg??

There's a thread about this in Sherdog that they are in negotiations. This is silly. I can see Brock Lesnar because of his NCAA Wrestling background, but now Bill Goldberg?? What's his resume like? I saw Goldberg on that Pro's vs. Joe's, I thought he was an ass. I use to hate when he would imitate a MMA fighter in his pro wrestling days, Gimme a break. He wishes.

Goldberg would kill Abbott. A younger Tank would probably win, but not any more. It's as lopsided as Hughes Vs. Gracie.

Goldberg is a longtime fan of mma. I don't how much training he's actually done though. I believe he previously mentioned his wrestling character was developed from watchin mma (he actually wears mma gloves in the ring). I think I heard him mention it while doing guest commentary on a Pride event a while back.

To further explain my stance...

Goldberg (while unexperienced in MMA) is in way better condition than Tank. Tank is old, out of shape, and probably doesn't possess the same knock out power that he used to. Goldberg could hit Tank 5 times before Tank could SWING once (not even guaranteeing that he'd hit.)

I love Tank. I love what he did for the sport, but he's old. He doesn't need to embarass himself. What is it about these fighters that don't know when to walk away?

Can't agree with you there. If there's one thing Tank can still do, it's swing with power (that and make a six pack dissapear in a hurry). Last year at ROTR 7, Tank KO'd Cabbage with one punch showing he still had his devastating power.

Again, I have no clue what kind of training/sparring Bill Goldberg has done, and perhaps he's got some skills. But nothing can prepare you to get hit by Tank. If Abbot connected on him, it would likely be lights out.

Goldberg played Professional Football and has taken countless chair shots to the head. I know, wrestling is fake. Those chair shots are not, though.

OK, Tank may still have his power. Cabbage? Come on. If there's anyone more sloppy than Tank, it's Cabbage.

Goldberg may not hit harder than Tank, but he could definately over power him. He'd have his way with Abbott. I can't see Goldberg actually knocking out Tank, but I still don't see Tank winning.

It's just my opinion, though. That's what the thread is for. Regardless, it would definately be an entertaining fight.

Goldberg has a black belt in BJJ. That's about all I know. But he's much too old to be competing in any legit combat sport. He's 40 now. Can't start an MMA career at this stage. Abbot would beat him easily.

Has Goldberg ever actually been in a fight? Tank by KO.

And Abbott isn't too old? Bill Goldberg is in phenomenal shape. He looks better than people half his age. I don't doubt that he trains every day just to keep in shape. He's a natural athlete.

What's Tank's training? A six-pack, a remote, and a couch?
